Outlook (Personal) IMAP Setup
How to connect Outlook.com, Hotmail, or Live email to Mailszen via IMAP. Covers personal Microsoft accounts (@outlook.com, @hotmail.com, @live.com).

Step-by-step setup

Verify IMAP is enabled in Outlook
Sign in at outlook.com → Settings → Mail → Sync email → POP and IMAP. Confirm IMAP is toggled on. Microsoft enables it by default for personal accounts.

Generate an App Password if you use two-step verification
Go to account.microsoft.com → Security → Advanced security options → App passwords. Create a new app password, name it "Mailszen", and copy the generated password.

Connect in Mailszen
Enter your full Outlook email address and your password — or your App Password if two-step verification is enabled.
Things to know
- *Works for @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, and @live.com personal accounts.
- *Microsoft 365 business accounts (work or school) have different restrictions. Check with your IT admin.
- *If authentication fails with two-step verification enabled, you must use an App Password.
